Cleaning Recommendations for InGlass™ Displays and Pens (COVID-19)

Below please find recommendations for cleaning and disinfecting procedure for InGlass™ products as related to COVID-19. Ensure safe practices based on your local regulations and specific requirements of the display brand you are using.

Important considerations before cleaning

  1. Select only non-abrasive cleaning cloths.
  2. Do not get liquids inside the unit.
  3. Avoid highly concentrated (>70%) alcohol, or bleach.
  4. Turn off unit and disconnect power for extra precaution.

Cleaning/disinfecting procedure

(Check with your local disease control and environmental protection agency guidelines (e.g. CDC or EPA)).

  1. Wear disposable gloves when cleaning and disinfecting surfaces (latex or nitrile).
  2. Glass should be cleaned using a mild soap-and-water solution.
  3. Moisten a microfiber cloth with a mixture of 70% isopropyl alcohol and 30% water (do not spray).
  4. When cleaning a display screen or touchscreen panel, wipe in one direction.
  5. When finished, wash hands immediately for 20 seconds with soap and water.

Self-made solution & other brands

  • Diluted household bleach solution
    • 1/3 cup bleach per gal. of water
    • 2 cl bleach per liter of water
  • Isopropyl alcohol (70% solution)

Do NOT use the following materials

  • Alcohol at concentration > 70%
  • Methyl or Ethyl > 35%
  • Thinner or Benzine
  • Strong solvents
  • Acids
  • Detergents with fluoride
  • Detergents with ammonia at concentration > 1.6%
  • Abrasive cleaners and detergents with abrasives

FlatFrog offers the option of using a personal pen as a hygienic option to a shared pen. Visitors can select the InGlass™ display vendor and product identification and our guide will find the right pen for the product.

  1. InGlass™ pens can be cleaned using the same disinfectant liquid used on the display.
  2. Wear disposable gloves when cleaning and disinfecting surfaces.
  3. Take a clean soft cloth and lightly dampen with the disinfectant liquid.
  4. Wipe the entire pen and allow it to dry.
  5. When finished, wash hands immediately for 20 seconds with soap and water.
